Creekside camping on Cedar Creek, one of the cleanest creeks in America. You'll be surrounded by beautiful scenery with a fire pit at each site. Enjoy birdwatching, wood turtles, wood ducks, eagles, hawks, blue crane, and other wildlife.  Cell phones optional! Take day trips to wineries, farm markets, orchards, historic sites, and more. Enjoy fishing, hiking, National Forest, biking, solitude and nature. Outdoor shower and port-a-john on site. Cornhole boards, firewood and load-in assistance available upon request for a small fee.  Nearby attractions include fishing, hiking, swimming, wineries, biking, orchards, Skyline Drive, and GW national forest. The oral history of Coal Mine Hollow has it that a moonshine still once graced the banks of Camp Cedar Creek. It was run by a recluse, who was always on the move from the Revenuers. A revenuer went missing along Cedar Creek one moonlit night, never to be seen again.  The bearded recluse who ran the still, owned two mules, and an old car frame without a motor. Those mules would pull him through the hollow, and up into the mountains, where the revenuers never found him. Some say on a cold, moonlit night, they’ve seen his two old mules, pulling an old car frame past Camp Cedar Creek.

Campsite 1
Site 1 was great, right on the creek. Large site with plenty of room to spread out. Campsites are a good distance apart so you're not right on top of your neighbors. Our dogs loved it too. Dave was also a great host, really nice guy.

Site 3 - Camp Cedar Creek
Water fun steps from the tent
David was a truly amazing host! The site was clean and spacious. We had 6 people and site 3 was more the enough space. We easily could have fit 3-4 more tents. The fire pit was perfect for cooking on and David provided a grate to place over the top along with a large table. We had our own walk to the creek where we happily relaxed in the water all day. The water wasn’t to high and the fresh water felt amazing on a sunny day. We will definitely be back soon!

Great family friendly camp site
We had a great time at David’s campsite! He’s a great host- very responsive, accommodating and helpful. Our car couldn’t get through the mud to the campsite and David helped us lug our things there in his truck. The land is beautiful as is the drive in. We saw some wildlife and our kids loved playing in the creek. We took a quick trip to Shenandoah and Front Royal the first day and it wasn’t a terribly long drive. My recommendation to campers would be to bring boots! Even if rain isn’t in the forecast. My wife didn’t have hers but David was quick to find some for her to wear during our stay. Most of the land is dry even after the rain but the walk to the bathroom is pretty muddy. Definitely recommend this site and we would stay again. Thanks David!

Great time camping by the creek! Road in was extremely muddy after some rainy days, but do-able in AWD. Spacious area, nice views, large campfire area. Def recommend!

Site 1 - Camp Cedar Creek
We had a great stay (2 families/7 kids). The area is beautiful with lots to explore and different creek areas to explore or wade. David is a great host and makes sure you find your site and know the lay of the land. Wildlife abounded and we will absolutely be returning! Thanks, David!
